Wide Exit Pedestal Retrofit for Leading Service Station – Gloucester
Project Overview
Tagmax was approached by a prominent service station in Gloucester, part of a major national network, to resolve ongoing issues with a previously installed security tagging system. The existing setup - supplied by another vendor - was discrete in design but ultimately ineffective at preventing theft or reducing shrinkage.
This was our first project with the group, and a vital opportunity to demonstrate the value of our expertise and high-performance security solutions.
The Challenge
The service station required reliable Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) coverage for two key entrance/exit points measuring 6m and 2m respectively. However, the space had already been fitted with an underperforming system that offered neither visual deterrence nor effective detection.
Our objective was to retrofit an advanced AM Wide Exit Pedestal System that could safeguard a diverse range of products—including high-risk lines such as food, drink, clothing, and convenience goods—without disrupting the day-to-day operation of the busy forecourt environment.
Our Solution
We installed 6 x Wide Exit AM Pedestals, engineered to provide strong visual deterrence and exceptional detection coverage for wide doorways—essential for retail environments with large open exits.
To maintain the store’s clean aesthetic, our experienced installation team carried out a discreet retrofit, carefully routing cables within existing grout lines. All cables were dropped internally and concealed within the chase lines, avoiding any unsightly trunking or surface-mounted cabling.
The result was a sleek, unobtrusive installation that blended seamlessly with the store's interior while delivering industry-leading EAS performance.
